Like the rest of the Dangan Ronpa 2 cast, Ibuki Mioda was somehow (allegedly) transported from a classroom at Hope Peak's Academy to a tropical island. Jabberwock Island, to be exact. While initially confused just like the rest of her classmates, Ibuki is quick to adapt and readily accepts the apparent vacation that their strange teacher Usami (a talking plushy bunny?!) bestowed upon them.

Ibuki is quite friendly, as well as incredibly energetic and loud; some would say to the extent of being hyperactive. She's quick to make light of most situations, and really is pretty much a playful and easy going person all around. She also has the odd habit of (inconsistently) referring to herself in the third person. For the most part, Ibuki isn't one to hold back what she wants to say.

Given the brief history detailed concerning her old music club, she is a very willful person. They had creative differences, and Ibuki broke up with them to pursue a solo career in the heavy metal (death metal?) genre. Despite her decision, she does want to get a like-minded band together to work with and in her freetime events with Hajime gets him to pick an instrument to join her.

When Monokuma shows up to hijack the vacation fun-times from Usami, Ibuki is as powerless as the rest of her classmates to do anything about it. Monokuma declares that the only way to escape now is to kill one of their island mates and not get caught. Even Ibuki's lighthearted personality withers under such despair as she freaks along with the rest of her peers.

Despite this bleak development, Ibuki isn't much one to linger on dark feelings. She's quick to snap back to her normal self, even after dead bodies of her classmates are discovered. The Ultimate Musician clearly has some extraordinary willpower to keep on with a smile despite what happens during the course of the game.

During the first murder case, Ibuki provides a rather valuable testimony thanks to her sense of hearing. After all, the entire building they were holding a party at was plunged into complete darkness due to a power failure, and her ears were able to pick up some rather important dialogue. The fact that she was able to remember what everybody was saying word for word also hints at (even if not directly stated in-game) a rather excellent (if not outright eidetic) memory as well.

From her interactions with Hajime and the rest of her classmates, Ibuki's not one to shy away from helping people. She offers Hajime some advice during her freetime events, and even tries to help him remember the talent that he somehow had forgotten. As well, during the earlier parts of chapter 3, Ibuki puts on a few events to cheer everybody up.

Unfortunately, her personality is completely devastated by the outbreak of the Despair Disease as she's turned into a gullible fool. This sets her up as an easy target for the third murderer. Fortunately for Ibuki, she's ending up at Bastion before this happens.

Personality expansion coz revision:

Upon first meeting Ibuki under most circumstances, the impression she gives off is of one that is rather playful, energetic, carefree, and loud. Given her position as the Ultimate Musician, it's only natural that she has the sort of personality that would draw in a lot of attention. Besides just her image, it's really just in her nature as a fun-loving sort of person. Because of these factors, she is a very people oriented person even if she comes off as rather strange. As long as one isn't put off by her loud personality, she's easy to get along with.

Detailing her strangeness, she can really come off as random at times. She may suddenly want to go on a very long walk, or she may just want to sit down and have a cup of tea with somebody. During these moments, she is driven by whatever random whim comes to mind.

She's not unflappable, though. In the end, she is still a teenager that still has yet to experience much of what life has to offer, and upsetting situations will certainly cause her to be... well, upset. In extreme cases (such as finding dead bodies), she will even start frothing at the mouth and have verbal tics.

And yet, once the shock of such situations are over, Ibuki will recover herself; revealing herself to have something of an amazing willpower in the face of despair. Even during the “trials”, while directly discussing morbid subjects like the cause of murder or the weapon, Ibuki is pretty much mostly good cheer. She has a rather odd ability to make light of such dark situations.

Ibuki's good cheer isn't just limited to keeping herself happy, though. She's more than willing to extend out and help those around her. However, she doesn't always think these through as much as she should, and sometimes these plans don't quite have the desired effect... Not everybody enjoys Death Metal, after all, and putting on a concert freaked out all but one of her classmates.

As the Ultimate Musician, Mioda has a rather strong drive to push forward her dreams of a career in the music industry. This is one of the few things she is passionate about, to the point that she has to take charge and is unwilling to make compromises on creative direction. She has a set vision on what she wants to accomplish, and is more than willing to go solo (which she did) if she's unable to find band-mates willing to go along with her.

That said, though, she really isn't much of a leader outside of music. She's more than willing to follow another person's lead, should one step up to the plate and prove themselves capable. Of course, this is assuming a situation in which a leader is necessary. She's more than capable of going off and doing her own thing in relaxed situations.

Powers: Other than a superior sense of hearing and an abnormally good memory, Ibuki's pretty much a normal human that is really good with music.
Entry: She'll stumble her way in on her own.
